DESCRIPTION:Externalities & Government Intervention es uno de los temas más importantes del curso\, tanto para HL como para SL. Supone casi una cuarta parte de la syllabus y «cae» en el examen prácticamente todos los años. \nDurante esta clase trabajaremos los siguientes temas: \nReasons for market failure \n\nPositive and negative externalities\, with appropriate diagrams\nShort-term and long-term environmental concerns\, with reference to sustainable development\nLack of public goods\nUnderprovision of merit goods\nOverprovision of demerit goods\n\nPossible government responses \n\nLegislation\nDirect provision of merit and public goods\nTaxation\nSubsidies\nTradable permits\nExtension of property rights\nAdvertising to encourage or discourage consumption\nInternational cooperation among governments\n\nPara ello\, emplearemos preguntas oficiales de examen (Paper 1 & Paper 2)\, a través de las cuales practicaremos todos los tipos de habilidades\, haciendo hincapié en las más difíciles: usar el vocabulario económico adecuadamente —tanto en los ensayos de Paper 1 como en las preguntas breves de Paper 2—\, incorporar diagramas\, hacer referencia a ‘real word examples’ y desarrollar argumentos económicos con los que obtener la máxima puntuación. \nY si tienes dudas\, ¡tráetelas!
